Holy crow, these booties are adorable. If you want something that makes people coo and say "Oh mon Dieu, regardez les petites bottines!!" as they pass in the street, these are for you! Made by Vancouver's Padraig Cottage, these slippers are created from hand-dyed pure wool, crocheted into a perfect mini-boot and feature a slip-proof leather sole and a cozy sheepskin-lined interior. Did I mention they're beyond cute? They come in a bunch of however-will-I-choose colours and in two sizes for little ones: newborn and baby.
You may be rather excited to learn that Padraig slippers come in adult and almost-adult sizes as well.
Oh, wow. What a wonderful year for clothes!! One of the best seasons in forever. Instead of talking about trends (embellishments!!), let's subscribe to the "a (carefully photoshopped) picture is worth a thousand words" philosophy. A few of my absolute favorites: Prada, Burberry Prorsum, Louis Vuitton, Oscar de la Renta, Aquilano Rimondi, Rochas, Valentino- always a favorite, it seems, and wowee Chanel.
One last word: What's with all the fur? I cannot understand what has driven the industry (and shame on you- the designers) to embrace something so awful and so ugly. Women of the world, unite! There is always a more fashionable alternative to fur. Don't buy it, be vocal about your distaste for it, and eventually it will disappear off the runways.
I don't know who coined this, but I cannot say it better: Fur is worn by beautiful animals and ugly people.

The perfect accessory for hot sun, hazy heat kind of weather: Tsumori Chisato's Costa Rica print parasol. Parasols were sprinkled throughout her Spring/Summer runway collection this year. Really excited to learn that Smythson's next designer collaboration is with pattern-master Jonathan Saunders. The line of notebooks, journals, and assorted stationary will feature patterns from Saunders f/w 2011 collection. It's set to launch soon- in early October. While we wait, the colours and patterns from Saunder's recently debuted Spring/Summer 2012 are delectable eye candy!
