Oh, the endless possibilities... Loving these cork pegs by Vancouver's own Molo Design. They measure 40 x 150mm/ 1.5 x 6" and are attached to the wall via magnets that can carry a load of 1.2kg (2.65 lbs) to 2.2kg (4.85 lbs), depending on where, exacly, the weight is concentrated on the hook. At US$65 per set of two, you may need to reel in those fantasies of wall-to-wall cork peg action.
I've never been a shelf person. They're annoying to put up- is it straight? will it eventually tear out of the wall? etc. etc.- and unless there's a nook in your wall, there never seems to be a perfect spot for them. The Bouroullec Brothers' new Corniches for Vitra are the perfect substitute. They're gorgeous; perfectly undulating in shape, and so very glossy. They look set to melt in my hand. Made from ABS plastic, they're lighter than they look. Corniches comes in three different shapes/sizes and a variety of colours.
If you've been obsessed with Clara von Zweigbergk's Themis mobile for Artecnica (guilty!) since its 2010 debut, I'm thinking you'll be a fan of her equally graphic & gorgeously-hued metal trays called Kaleido. Available in 5 sizes/shapes and 9 super-charged colours, they're designed for one of the most interesting design cos around, Danish manufacturer & shop Hay.
One day, who knows when, I'll make it to a Hay shop in person and it's going to be dangerous.

German designer Sebastian Herkner's new Tauber Collection is inspired by something rather dull & generally uninspiring: the covers of ventilation shafts. And the folds found in the facades aren't just there for beauty's sake either- they help to provide stability. The collection consists of a cabinet, bench and individual boxes. Made from powder-coated steel, they're manufactured by Pulpo and come in white, black, grey & the perfect shade of green.
I'm in love with everything Québec City-based SIX POINTE ONE does. 6.1 is co-designed by Claudia Després & Jérémy Couture and their designs are equal parts charm and friendly utilitarianism:

With two levels and the proportions 89¾ x 15¾ x 18¾", Periphere's Helsinsky Console sure does give you a lot of space to play with. Talented Brother and Sister team Thien & My Ta Trung are the designers behind the Periphere name, but they run and stock a furniture shop here in Montreal called Domison- a must-see. While Helsinsky is available in a variety of woods and tripod finishes, I'm entirely smitten with this white & yellow combo.
Imagine the pretty papers & pens, grommets, glue & glitter- the fun supplies you could store in this wonder! With open, easily accessible drawers that can be removed entirely for full access, it's meant to be a place for tools. So minimalist but visually intriguing, it could be used for perfectly curated small anythings. Say hello to Line Depping's jewelbox of a unit of drawers: Tool Boxes.

If you're crazy for green, here's a great piece to introduce some major colour into a room. Simply called Nesting Tables/Step Stools, Areaware's trio of tables by designer Paul Loebach pack a serious punch of colour- and function too. Each unit has a hinged lid to provide you with some always needed storage space, and the three pieces tuck together or can be used seperately. Now in stock at Areaware, the set retails for US$400 and also comes in blue or grey.
ABR, exciting Spanish newcomers on the furniture front, wow with their Latten shelving system. Its concept is simple, but wait until you hear how it's executed. Designed by Hannes Gumpp, Max Gumpp & Toni Pallejahese, these shelves are actually created with... chairs. The materials used are pine chairs with MDF seats and thin pine planks in a natural finish to add stability lengthwise, while planks in seven lacquered colours secure the unusual components vertically. It's all bound together with humble plastic ties. Wow. Woweeeee.

The Accordion Cabinet is a new, brilliant piece by the talented Elisa Strozyk, created in collaboration with artist Sebastian Neeb.
