Through experimentation with shape & colour- and most importantly- layers, designer Petra Lundblad-Fridén has created Dag & Natt, a dreamy collection of rugs for Swedish rug co Kastnall. Translated into English, the series is called Day & Night. From the manufacturer:

Perhaps the sun is breaking through the clouds after a rain, or rolling waves are in contrast to a dark sky, or trees and bushes are thrashing in the wind. The four colour combinations have names reflecting the weather and sky phenomena: Haze, Thunder, Summer Dawn and Autumn Dusk.

ABR, exciting Spanish newcomers on the furniture front, wow with their Latten shelving system. Its concept is simple, but wait until you hear how it's executed. Designed by Hannes Gumpp, Max Gumpp & Toni Pallejahese, these shelves are actually created with... chairs. The materials used are pine chairs with MDF seats and thin pine planks in a natural finish to add stability lengthwise, while planks in seven lacquered colours secure the unusual components vertically. It's all bound together with humble plastic ties. Wow. Woweeeee.
